Dash for Dementia
Dash for Dementia is the inaugural 5K run/walk held in Plattsburgh on September 19, 2026. The event is organized to raise funds for the Third Age Adult Day Center at SUNY Plattsburgh, which provides programming and respite services for individuals and families living with Alzheimer’s and related dementias.
The format is a 5K Run/Walk with both timed and untimed participation options. All registered participants receive an official event t-shirt; children under 12 have a reduced registration fee and only need to register if they want a shirt. Additional distance options may be added based on interest. Course details and maps will be provided closer to race day.
The venue is the Plattsburgh State Fieldhouse at 165 Rugar Street, Plattsburgh, NY 12901. Food and beverage vendors scheduled to attend include the Dog Father Food Truck and the High Peaks Brew coffee cart. Sponsorship opportunities and a college and community group challenge are part of the event plan; group activities mentioned include team registration, fundraising challenges, and group recognition and awards.
Parking and venue access information will be shared before the event. All proceeds support the Third Age Adult Day Center at SUNY Plattsburgh. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
