Dash for Dementia - Plattsburgh, NY
Dash for Dementia is the inaugural community 5K Run/Walk organized by UFirst FCU to benefit the Third Age Adult Day Center at SUNY Plattsburgh. The event is scheduled for September 19, 2026, at the Plattsburgh State Fieldhouse, 165 Rugar Street, Plattsburgh, NY 12901. It offers a single distance of 5K with both timed and untimed participation.
Registered participants receive an official Dash for Dementia event t-shirt; shirt orders will close by a stated deadline to ensure availability. Registration fees listed are Adults $25 and Children under 12 $10, with the child registration required only if a shirt is desired. All proceeds support programming and respite services for individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s and related dementias.
Food and refreshments at the venue include the Dog Father Food Truck, CAS food truck, and Mr. Ding A Ling. Organizers note that course maps and parking and venue access information will be posted prior to race day. Additional distance options may be added based on interest. A college and group challenge is being developed with team registration, fundraising elements, group recognition, and awards as planned components.
