Darter Dash
Darter Dash is a trail running event at Turkey Creek Nature Preserve in Pinson, AL held on September 26, 2026. The event is organized by the Birmingham Ultra Trail Society together with Turkey Creek Nature Preserve and offers both a 10k and a 5K.

The courses run on preserved trails and include some moderate elevation changes, with stretches that follow Turkey Creek. A short portion of both races is on pavement. The race field is capped at 125 participants across both distances. Packet pickup is available the morning of the event. There is no race day registration.
At the finish area organizers will provide water and typical aid station items, and a post race breakfast featuring pancakes and mimosas. An optional Splash Challenge lets participants tube down the waterfall at the finish line. A brief awards presentation will recognize top male, female, master, grand master, and youth finishers, and participants are entered to win sponsor giveaways.
