Darter Dash
Darter Dash is a trail running event at Turkey Creek Nature Preserve in Pinson, AL, held on September 26. The event offers trail running on preserves and short paved sections along Turkey Creek.

The race is organized by the Birmingham Ultra Trail Society (BUTS) together with Turkey Creek Nature Preserve. Entry is capped at 125 participants across both distances. A packet pickup is available on the morning of the event; there is no race day registration this year.
Course terrain includes moderate elevation changes and stretches that run beside Turkey Creek, with a short portion on pavement. Water and typical aid station items will be available at the finish area. Post-race provisions include a pancake breakfast with mimosas.
An optional Splash Challenge at the finish allows participants to tube down the waterfall. A brief award ceremony will recognize top male, female, master, grand master, and youth finishers, and participants will be entered into sponsor giveaways.
