Darter Dash

Darter Dash is a trail running event at Turkey Creek Nature Preserve in Pinson, AL, organized by the Birmingham Ultra Trail Society and the Preserve. The event offers two distances on natural trails with some moderate elevation and short paved sections, and parts of the course run alongside Turkey Creek.
The event lists the following distances:
- 10K
- 5K
The race is capped at 125 total participants across both distances. Packet pickup is available on race morning and there is no race day registration. An optional Splash Challenge allows participants to tube down the waterfall at the finish line. A pancake breakfast with mimosas will be provided after the run. Awards are planned for top male, female, master, grand master, and youth finishers, and participants are entered for sponsor giveaways. Proceeds from the event fund educational programs at Turkey Creek Nature Preserve.
