Darter Dash is a trail event at Turkey Creek Nature Preserve in Pinson, Alabama, offering both a 10K and a 5K distance.

The event is organized by the Birmingham Ultra Trail Society (BUTS) and includes routes that run along Turkey Creek, with some moderate elevation and a short paved section. A limited field is in place: the race is capped at 125 participants combined across the 5K and 10K.
Race-day provisions include packet pickup beginning at 7am, water and standard aid-station items at the finish area, and a post-race pancake breakfast with mimosas. An optional Splash Challenge allows participants to tube down the waterfall at the finish. A brief award ceremony will recognize top finishers in male, female, master, grand master, and youth categories. All entrants are entered in sponsor giveaways.
Registration closes on Wed, Sep 23 at 11:59PM CT. Proceeds from the event support educational programs at Turkey Creek Nature Preserve, which protects the only known habitat for the Vermilion Darter and other darter species. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
