Dark and Dirty Miles
Dark and Dirty Miles is a night trail race held at Twin Mountain Offroad Park near Quinton, Oklahoma. Running takes place on a repeating course that uses a single 5K loop, keeping runners close to the start and finish area. The trail surface combines runnable jeep roads with more technical sections, and participants should expect occasional wet sections.
The event takes place after dark and organizers advise runners to bring a headlamp. The area around the start and finish functions as a social gathering point where runners and spectators set up chairs and canopies. Food is available at the start and finish area. Photography is provided by Mile 90, with images included as part of registration.
A ruck division is offered with a 10 lb minimum weight. Trekking poles are allowed, weighted vests are permitted if the total weight meets the minimum, and the required weight may not include consumable or wearable items such as food, water, or clothing. Ruck finishers receive a finisher medal and a custom Velcro patch; podium awards are not given for the ruck division.
Runners are responsible for their own physical and mental readiness. Local EMS will be used for medical emergencies. Participants must follow race rules, which include no littering, no stashing supplies on course, notifying race management if dropping out, and keeping dogs leashed.
