About the race
The D67 Dash 5K Run/Walk is a community event held at Frank Hren Discovery Park (9500 Oak Park Avenue) in Morton Grove, behind Golf Middle School. The event supports the Golf School District 67 Foundation, an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit that funds enrichment projects for Hynes Elementary School, Golf Middle School, and the local community; the Foundation has awarded over $65,000 in grants since 2018.
The event features a 5K (3.1 mile) course that includes two water stations and is professionally chip timed. Runners, walkers, participants with strollers, and children on bicycles or scooters are welcome; children in strollers are not required to register. Children who ride bikes or scooters may participate but are not eligible for awards. Electric bikes and electric scooters are not permitted; helmet use is strongly encouraged.
Registration options include early pricing with guaranteed t-shirts for registrations received before August 28. Late registration after September 14 is available in person for a higher fee. Packet pick-up is available on the Friday before the event at Golf Middle School and there is a last-minute packet pick-up on race morning at the park. Awards are given to overall male and female finishers and top finishers in age groups: 13 & under, 14–19, 20–39, 40–49, and 50+. Post-race activities include family-friendly programming, refreshments, music, and awards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
