CYC Boiling Pot 5K
The event is a community 5K race with a free kids fun run in Canajoharie, New York. The name refers to the Canajoharie Boiling Pot, a circular gorge in Canajoharie Creek located just south of the village and accessible at the end of Floral Avenue. Awards include handcrafted trophies that feature rocks collected from the Boiling Pot section of the gorge.
The race is a fundraiser to benefit Community Youth Center Inc. C.Y.C. provides after school activities, Biddy Basketball, and a five-week summer program to about 300 youths from five local municipalities. Mohawk Street will be closed to allow for an expanded start and finish area and additional parking. Registration and packet pick up are handled at NBT Bank at 20 Mohawk St., Canajoharie. Registration opens July 1, 2026 and closes August 20, 2026. Entry fees for the 5K are $20 before August 15 and $25 on the day of the race. The kids fun run is free; a registration form must be completed and signed by a parent. Unique awards are given to the top male and female finisher in each age group, and T-shirts are provided to the first 100 registrants for the 5K.
