CYC Boiling Pot 5K : Canajoharie, NY
The CYC Boiling Pot 5K is a community fundraising event in Canajoharie that benefits Community Youth Center Inc. The center provides after-school programming, Biddy Basketball and a five-week summer program to about 300 youths from five local municipalities.
Race organization and participant services are centered on Mohawk Street in the village. Mohawk Street will be closed to allow an expanded start and finish area and additional parking. Registration and packet pick up take place at NBT Bank, 20 Mohawk Street, Canajoharie.
Distances offered:
- 5K main 5 kilometer race
- 1K free kids fun run split into toddler and junior groups
The 1K kids run is free; the registration form must be completed and signed by a parent. The 5K entry fee is listed as $20 before 8/15 and $25 on race day. Walkers are permitted in the 5K but must finish within one hour.
Awards include unique handcrafted trophies made with rocks collected from the Boiling Pot section of Canajoharie Creek Gorge and age group awards for top male and female finishers. T shirts are provided to the first 100 registrants for the 5K. Donations are accepted and volunteers support event operations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
