Cush - Galtees
The event is a mountain race on Cush in the Galtees, County Tipperary, held on Sunday 23rd August 2026. The course is a 4.50 km out-and-back with approximately 400 m of climb. The route is fully marked and GPS devices are not allowed. The published difficulty is Moderate with more than 500 m ascent indicator in the classification.
The route starts on rocky trail and leads to a stile before opening onto mountain terrain. Runners proceed to the top of Cush, meet the summit marshal, then return along the same line to the finish. Prizegiving will take place at the finish line.
Entry fees are €7 for seniors and €5 for competitors over 65 and under 18. Entries open Monday 17th August 2026 at 21:00 and close Saturday 22nd August 2026 at 18:00. Juniors are permitted and no early start is scheduled.
Mandatory kit is Level B Standard and must be carried as required; the final kit to be carried during the race will be confirmed at registration. Required items include a waterproof jacket, hat or buff, gloves, whistle, a charged mobile phone with the emergency number stored, and a foil blanket or bivvy bag. Parking and registration will be in the field at the bottom of the Cush road; participants should follow the instructions of volunteer stewards.
