Event Details
The Cursed Soldiers Memorial Run is a run or walk that takes place on Sunday, March 1, 2026. The event will be held in Forest Park, Queens, specifically in the North Forest Park area next to the Forest Park Soccer Field in Woodhaven, New York.
The main distance for the adult event is 1963 meters. A separate run for children up to 12 years old will take place immediately after the adult event, on a shorter course. All participants are asked to gather at the meeting point next to the stadium.
Registration and Participation
Participants are encouraged to register in advance as the number of spots is limited and on-site registration cannot be guaranteed. The on-site registration fee on race day is $40. Each participant must be registered separately with personal details and an email address to receive a unique race number.
The event is open to everyone, including whole families and people who do not run regularly. Children aged 5 to 12 may participate free of charge if their parents are registered. Parents are responsible for supervising their children during the run.
Memorial Significance
The run commemorates the soldiers of the Polish anti-communist and anti-Soviet underground who operated between 1944 and 1963. The symbolic distance of 1963 meters references the year 1963, which marks the passing of the last Cursed Soldier.
