Event Overview
The Culford Sprint Triathlon is organized by Ipswich Triathlon Club and is scheduled for 31 May 2026. It has been held for 28 years. The event takes place on the grounds of Culford School in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.
The Course
The event follows a sprint triathlon format. The swim segment is 300m in a pool, with competitors starting at 30-second intervals. The bike segment is 21km on quiet country roads, completed over 3 laps. The run segment is 4.2km within the school grounds, completed over 2 laps. Supporters can watch the event from the grounds.
Event Details
The minimum age to compete is 15 as of 31 December 2026. Age categories are also based on age at the end of 2026. The entry fee is £44. Participants who are not full members of British Triathlon must purchase a Race Pass for insurance (£8 standard, £2 for participants aged 24 and under). Registration for the race opens at 07:00 and the first swimmer starts at 08:45.
Additional Information
All finishers receive a medal. Trophies are awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in Open and Female categories, and to age-group winners. A cake stall is hosted by the local church hall.
