Culford Sprint Triathlon 2026
Culford Sprint Triathlon takes place on 31 May 2026 and is organised by Ipswich Triathlon Club at Culford School near Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. The event has been held for 28 years and is described as beginner friendly and welcoming.
Race format includes short pool swim, a road bike leg and a run within the school grounds. Distances are:
- 300 m pool swim, rolling starts every 30 seconds
- 21 km bike on quiet country roads, three laps
- 4.2 km run within the school grounds, two laps
The event is popular with families and supporters and includes viewing opportunities and a cake stall run by a local church hall. All finishers receive a medal. Trophies are awarded for first, second and third in Open and Female categories, plus age group winners.
Minimum competitor age is 15 on 31 December 2026 and all age categories are based on age on that date. Entry fee is £44. Competitors without a full British Triathlon membership must purchase a Race Pass for insurance; rates are £8 standard or £2 for participants aged 24 and under. Entries may be placed on a waiting list; total places are 220.
If an entry cannot be used it may be deferred for one year only or refunded minus a £10 administration fee if requested by midnight on Sunday 16 May 2026.
