Crossroads Fitness Turkey Trot
The Crossroads Fitness Turkey Trot is an annual fun run and fundraiser held in Helena, Montana. Now in its fifth decade, the event takes place on Thanksgiving morning to celebrate the holiday and provide support for local charities and youth sports organizations. The event is hosted at Crossroads Sports and Fitness on Dearborn Avenue.
Participants can choose from three distinct distances:
- 1 km
- 5 km
- 10 km
The 1 km course consists of a single small clockwise loop. The 5 km distance follows one large clockwise loop, while the 10 km distance requires two rotations of the large loop. The terrain for all routes is characterized as flat and fast, though weather conditions may make traction advisable some years.
This event is organized as an un-timed fun run rather than a competitive race. Following the activity, refreshments such as bagels and fruit are provided for participants. The event also includes a random drawing for traditional holiday items, including turkeys and pies, for those in attendance. Registration is conducted online for a set entry fee.
