About the race
The Crooked Run Valley event at Sky Meadows in Delaplane, VA offers trail races in two distances and counts toward multiple series standings. Points from the event apply to the 5k, 10k, Back of the Pack Series, and the Spring Series. The course is a loop around Turner Pond with scenic views of fields and streams and occasional livestock. The trail includes roots, rocks, and a gravel hill; the 10k is two laps of the 5k.
Walkers are welcome. Course maps and elevation details are provided for participants. Runners receive a finisher medal, a technical (DriFit) event shirt, and chip timing. T shirts are guaranteed for registrations made by May 12; extra shirts are ordered for later registrants on a first come first served basis.
A virtual race option is available. Packet pickup is available at the event and race day registration is offered. Live results are posted online and a QR code at the race provides immediate access to results.
Final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race. Aid and facilities include port a johns near the parking lot and water stations placed along the course. Approximate water station locations are given for each distance. Awards are presented for the top three men and women overall and for first and second places in standard age groups; overall top three finishers are not eligible for age group awards. Banditing is not allowed and may lead to removal or disqualification.
