About the race
Craft Idre Fjällmaraton is a mountain trail running event at Idre Fjäll, set in Sweden's southernmost reindeer grazing areas and scheduled for 28 August 2027.
Distances on marked trails:
- 8 km
- 18 km
- 28 km
- 45 km
The courses run on singletrack and natural trail where runners meet stones, roots and varied footing. Sections with sustained climbs require strength, while other parts allow a flowing running rhythm and offer views over fjäll, forest and a bluing horizon. The volcano shaped peak Städjan rises 1131 meters above sea level and in 1844 inspired the verse that later became part of the national anthem.
The Renens Stig 45 km is a stage in the Outnorth Trailtour and has its start on the town square at Idre Fjäll; the race often attracts elite trail runners. Logistics around the event include a Fjällmaratonbus that runs to and from the race and is described as social, environmentally friendly and price conscious. Accommodation is available on Idre Fjäll close to the race venue and meal packages are offered for visitors who book locally.
