CPM Thame 10K
The CPM Thame 10K is an annual road race organised by Thame Runners that takes place at the end of June, with the 2027 event scheduled for Sunday 27th June. The race has grown since the 1980s to attract around 1000 entrants, and entry is capped at 1000 on advice from police and athletics officials.
The event is sponsored by CPM since 1994 and retains a charity focus, with all profits allocated to local Thame based charities. To date over £100,000 has been allocated to local good causes.
The course offers an urban and rural mix that runs through Thame town centre and the surrounding countryside. The route was revised around the turn of the century to use the traffic-free Sustrans Phoenix Trail for part of the return, so nearly half of the course is traffic free. Feedback highlights the relatively flat nature of the course and the presence of marshals along the route. Historically the race evolved from an earlier Thame Road Race and a 10 km fundraiser started in 1984, with Thame Runners taking over organisation in 1985.
