Cowboy Capital 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run
The Cowboy Capital event takes place on September 26, 2026, at Stephenville City Park, Large pavilion in Stephenville, TX 76401. The location notes the playground closest to the Recreation Center as a reference point for race activities and the finish area.

Registration opens June 11 and closes September 4, 2026. Registration fees through September 3 are $35 for the 5K and $25 for the 1 Mile. Fees after September 3 are $40 for the 5K and $30 for the 1 Mile. Race t-shirts are guaranteed for participants registered by September 3, 2026. Walk up registration is available on the morning of the event.
Awards are organized by male and female age divisions with the following groups: 6-8, 9-11, 12-14, 15-17, 18-20, 21-25, 26-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70 and over. Trophy belt buckles are awarded to the top male and top female finishers. The 1 Mile Fun Run provides award ribbons to all finishers.
The schedule is coordinated so runners arrive in time to observe the Rodeo Parade through downtown Stephenville. Pets are not allowed at the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
