Cousin Jack: The Classic and the Ultra

Cousin Jack is a trail running event held on the coast paths of Cornwall. The race begins and ends at The Island Centre in St Ives. The course features a variety of natural terrain including mud, steep hills, bogs, and sections where participants must navigate and climb over rocks.

The event offers two main distance categories:

  • Classic Jack
  • Ultra Jack

The Ultra Jack follows an out-and-back format, requiring participants to complete the designated course in one direction and then return along the same route. For the Classic Jack distance, transport options are available with a coach seat booking for those who require it to reach the starting point or return.

Participants must be over 18 years of age and are expected to be properly equipped for coastal trail conditions. Race rules permit the use of crew members to assist runners, but support runners are not allowed on the course. In the event of an Amber or Red weather warning from the Met Office, the physical race may be rescheduled or transitioned to a virtual format. The event is held under an ARC permit, and registration is open to both affiliated and non-affiliated runners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
