Course for Compassion : description
The Course for Compassion takes place on September 19, 2026 at Valois Park in Pointe-Claire. This is the 10th edition of an event that raises funds for the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence. The stated 2026 net fundraising goal is $400,000 to help ensure access to free, compassionate palliative care in the community.
Participants choose between two distances:
- 1 km
- 5 km
The event is described as a fun run where people may walk, jog, or run at their own pace. Dogs are welcome and the event includes family-friendly elements. After the route, a Party Zone in Valois Park features local merchants and sponsors offering complimentary items and activities for children such as face painting, frozen treats, and coffee.
Participants can create personal fundraising pages or form teams to raise funds. A Memorial Sign is offered for $200; these signs are placed along a section called Memory Lane and provide a way to remember loved ones while supporting the Residence.
