Course des pompiers de Laval
The Course des pompiers de Laval is held annually in Laval and has been organized since 2012. The event is produced by the Laval Fire Safety Service, the City of Laval and the Foundation of Firefighters of Quebec. It supports the Foundation by raising funds and engaging the community.
Multiple distances are offered in person and as a virtual race. The marathon course runs along the Rivière des Prairies. Since 2023 the finish area for all distances has been located at the outdoor site of Collège Montmorency. Participants in races of 5 km and above pass through a real fire station.
The event includes programs and challenges such as a youth offer for Lavallois aged 17 and under that includes a shirt and medal for 10 CAD. There is also a corporate challenge and group registration options. The event is sanctioned Gold by Athletics Quebec and the marathon is a qualifying race for the Abbott World Marathon Majors.
Past editions have featured commemorative medals and fundraising initiatives that supported burn victims and the Foundation’s mission. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
