Bryan Liew Race in Saint-Lazare
The Bryan Liew Race is a running event held at Westwood Park and the Bryan Liew athletics track in Saint-Lazare. Distances offered include:
- 10 km
- 5 km
- 2 km
- 1 km for ages 12 and under
- 400 m for ages 6 and under
The 5 km course runs through the Saddlebrook neighborhood, passing a pond and wooded streets. The 10 km consists of just over one lap on the 400 meter track followed by two loops of the 5 km course. The 2 km is a loop starting and finishing at Westwood Park and passing by Evergreen School. The 1 km youth race is a loop on Westwood Street finishing under the park finish arch. The 400 m event takes place on the athletics track.
All races are timed with bib chips using gun time by Chrono 900. There is a water point at midcourse for the 5 km and 10 km and another water point near the start. Volunteers are posted at key intersections and directional arrows mark the route. Onsite facilities include toilets, changing rooms, showers and postrace snacks. Medals are awarded to top finishers by category and a finisher ribbon is given to 400 m participants. Walkers are welcome on all distances except the 10 km and race strollers are permitted provided they start at the back of the field.
