Cougar Mountain Trail Run Series
The Cougar Mountain Trail Runs is in its 23rd year and is organized by Seattle Running Club and Northwest Trail Runs. The series supports King County Parks; since its start the events have donated over $254,000 to the parks. Races take place at Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park, with registration and the start at the Sky Country Trailhead.
The summer series holds one race each month in May, June, July, and August. An autumn race is held in October and is not part of the summer series. Series standings are updated after each race. Participants who sign up for a series and finish at least three races are eligible for series awards; the best three of four finishes are counted. Online registration closes the Wednesday before each event at 11:59 PM PDT and in-person registration is available at the starting line. There are no refunds of registration fees.

The course runs through fern-lined single-track trails, marsh and wetland habitats, and forest. Trails feature rolling hills with some moderate climbs and a few short steep inclines. The event is cup free; runners are asked to bring refillable water containers for aid stations, which are stocked with Skratch hydration products. Photos may be taken and used by the club for promotional purposes. Dogs are not allowed on course due to USATF sanctioning and insurance requirements. The August meeting includes USATF PNTF championship races that require a current USATF membership number for championship entry. A COVID guideline asks anyone with symptoms in the previous ten days or with known exposure to skip the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
