The Cougar Mountain Trail Run takes place on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at King County’s Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park with the registration and start at Sky Country Trailhead in Bellevue, WA. The event is organized by Seattle Running Club and Northwest Trail Runs and includes these distances:
- 5K
- 7.6 miles
- 19.5 miles
- 50K
Estimated elevation gain for each course:
- 5K – 350 feet
- 7.6 miles – 1,150 feet
- 19.5 miles – 3,700 feet
- 50K – 7,200 feet (50K runners may leave a drop bag to be held at the aid station at Highway 900)
A portion of each entry fee is donated to King County Parks ($15 per entry, $10 for the 5K).

Online registration closes the Wednesday before the race; event-day registration is available. The October race includes a costume contest with awards for best costume and best group costume. The 7.6-mile event features the Cougar Cup team competition: teams pay a $180 entry, consist of 4–6 people, require waivers and an emergency contact, and must include at least two scoring women. The series is cup-free at aid stations; participants are asked to bring refillable water containers. Dogs are not allowed on course. Top three Men, Women, and Nonbinary finishers in each event receive podium prizes. There is a participant cap and entries are nonrefundable.
