Cotswold Airport Running Festival
The Cotswold Airport Running Festival takes place at Cotswold Airport in Cirencester. This event provides the opportunity to run on a flat runway and airport roads that are closed specifically for the races. Participants can choose from three different distances:
- 5k
- 10k
- Half Marathon
The course features a smooth and flat profile, making it suitable for maintaining a consistent pace. Every kilometer is marked with distance flags, and marshals are positioned along the route to guide participants toward the finish line. The race is chip-timed, providing runners with accurate results.
The event village is situated next to the Negus Boeing 747 aircraft. This central area serves as a hub for the festival, offering various food and drink options. Participants receive free race photos and a themed medal after completing their race. Post-race refreshments are also provided at the finish line.
The festival atmosphere is supported by a service area where runners can interact before and after the event. The location provides a distinctive backdrop for the competition, utilizing the infrastructure of a live airport for the designated race routes.
