Cossatot River Trail Run
The Cossatot River Trail Run is scheduled for September 26, 2026 at Cossatot River State Park - Natural Area in Wickes, Arkansas. The event is organized by Texas Outlaw Running and includes trail marathon and half marathon distances. Registration closes on Fri, Sep 25.

The course follows the River Corridor Trail along the Cossatot River in the Ouachita Mountains. Surfaces include rocky, rooty, grassy and dirt single track. The route incorporates point to point and out and back segments and finishes at the park Visitor Center. Shuttle service is provided for the half marathon.
Elevation gain is listed at about 4000 feet for the marathon and about 2000 feet for the half marathon. Historic average temperatures for the date range from roughly 51 to 72 degrees. This is a no cup race so participants should bring their own water carrying system.
Event support includes aid stations with food and hydration, course markings and volunteers, on course photography, packet pickup at the Visitor Center, and finisher medals for both distances. Event gear includes a soft tee with an order deadline to guarantee shirt size. Awards include first place prizes for each distance and a dead freakin last award for the marathon.
