Cossatot River Trail Run
The Cossatot River Trail Run is a trail endurance event held along the Cossatot River in the Ouchitas at Cossatot River State Park in Wickes, AR. The course uses the River Corridor Trail and finishes at the park visitor center. The terrain is rocky, rooty, grassy and dirt single-track and includes hilly sections with substantial elevation gain.
Distances offered:
- 12.5 miles "Half Marathon"
- 25 miles "Marathon"
Elevation gain is listed as 2000 ft for the "half marathon" and 4000 ft for the "marathon". The event includes marked and supported trails, aid station food and hydration, course photography, and awards for top finishers including finisher medals and a DFL award for the marathon. Event shirts are available with an order deadline to guarantee size. The event does not provide disposable cups, so participants should use a personal water-carrying system. Visitor center parking and the race finish are colocated for all participants. Historic average temperatures for the event period are reported in the 51 to 72 degree range.
