Corydon 4th of July Firecracker Mile
This event is a community one mile race in Corydon, Iowa, held on July 4. The course starts and finishes on the Corydon Square near the Wayne Theater (110 N. Franklin St, Corydon). The event is open to runners and walkers of any age.
The distance is 1 mile. Medals are awarded to the top three overall finishers in each gender; there are no age-group categories for overall awards. A prediction contest is part of the event: entrants submit a predicted finish time during on-site bib pick up or registration and the closest guess wins a medal. Watches and phones are not allowed for the prediction contest. An additional medal is awarded for the most patriotic runner.
All entry fees and donations support the Wayne JH/HS Cross Country Program and Corydon's Fast and Furious Run Club. Registration opens on 2026-06-11. The entry fee is $20. Entrants who register by midnight on 2026-06-25 are guaranteed a shirt in their ordered size; entries after that date receive shirts only as available.
