Event Overview
The Corvedale Cake Walk is a challenge walk held on Saturday, 25th April 2026. It offers two route options: a 22-mile route and a 10-mile route. Both walkers and runners are welcome. The event is organized by the Marches Group of the LDWA, with proceeds supporting the Holdgate and Eaton church communities.
Routes
The event starts at Holdgate Church near Much Wenlock in Shropshire. Both routes begin there and include the summit of Abdon Burf, the highest point in Shropshire.
- 22-mile route: From Holdgate, the route goes to Abdon Burf, then to Clee St Margaret, over Wenlock Edge to Eaton, and back via Wilderhope to the finish.
- 10-mile route: From Holdgate to Abdon Burf, then to Clee St Margaret and Tugford, before returning to the start.
Both routes return to Holdgate via the Jack Mytton Way.
Facilities and Notes
Refreshments are available, including hot drinks at the start, cakes, sandwiches, and hot drinks at checkpoints, and hot dogs at the finish. Participants are asked to bring their own mug. The event takes place in livestock country, so dogs are not permitted. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Suitable clothing for changeable weather is required. Participation
The event is currently full, and all new entries are placed on a waiting list. There is no entry fee payable when joining the waiting list. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
