Corvedale Cake Walk

The Corvedale Cake Walk is a Marches LDWA challenge walk held on Saturday 25 April 2026. The event starts at Holdgate Church, near Much Wenlock, Shropshire (postcode TF13 6LW, Grid Ref SO 562896). Entries open 1 January 2026 and close 11 April 2026. Proceeds will go to Holdgate and Eaton church communities. Parking is clearly signed nearby.

Routes and facilities

Both routes visit the summit of Abdon Burf, which is identified as the highest point in Shropshire. The 22 mile route continues via Clee St Margaret, Munslow Park, up and over Wenlock Edge to Eaton, then Wilderhope and back to Holdgate. The 10 mile route goes from Holdgate to Abdon Burf, on to Clee St Margaret and Tugford, then across fields and lanes back to Holdgate.

Hot drinks are available at the start; checkpoints provide refreshments including cakes, sandwiches and hot drinks; hot dogs are served at the finish. The event is in livestock country, so dogs are not permitted. Under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Participants are asked to bring a mug, use OS Explorer 217 (Longmynd & Wenlock Edge) and wear suitable clothing for changeable weather. Both walkers and runners are welcome.
