Corvedale Cake Walk
Corvedale Cake Walk is a Marches LDWA challenge walk based at Holdgate Church, near Much Wenlock in Shropshire (TF13 6LW, Grid Ref SO 562896). The routes climb to Abdon Burf, the highest point in Shropshire, and both return via the Jack Mytton Way. The longer route also climbs Wenlock Edge with views out to Mid Wales.
- 22 mile route: Abdon Burf then Wenlock Edge, returning by the Jack Mytton Way
- 10 mile route: Abdon Burf, Clee St Margaret, then fields and lanes back to Holdgate
Entries open 1 January 2027 and close 10 April 2027. Entry fees are £20 for the 22 mile route and £16 for the 10 mile route. No refunds are available after 1 March 2027. Parking will be clearly signed near the event centre.
Walkers and runners are welcome. Dogs are not permitted because of livestock. Under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Hot drinks are available at the start, checkpoints offer refreshments including cakes and sandwiches, and hot dogs are served at the finish; participants are asked to bring a mug. Participants should carry suitable clothing for changeable weather and the recommended map is OS Explorer 217. A full route description will be published on the Marches LDWA site.
