Event overview

The Corvedale Cake Walk is a Marches LDWA challenge walk held on Saturday 25 April 2026 from Holdgate Church near Much Wenlock, Shropshire (TF13 6LW, Grid Ref SO 562896). The route includes climbs to Abdon Burf, noted as the highest point in Shropshire. Both routes use sections of the Jack Mytton Way. Proceeds will go to the Holdgate and Eaton church communities.

Routes and logistics

The 22 mile route goes from Holdgate via tracks and fields to Abdon Burf, on to Clee St Margaret (control point 1), then over Wenlock Edge to Eaton (control point 2), returning via Wenlock Edge and Wilderhope to Holdgate. The 10 mile route reaches Abdon Burf, continues to Clee St Margaret and Tugford, then returns across fields and lanes to Holdgate. There will be clearly signed parking nearby.

General notes: hot drinks will be available at the start, full refreshments at control points, and hot dogs at the finish. Dogs are not permitted. Under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Participants should carry suitable clothing for changeable weather and are asked to bring a mug.
