Copenhagen Marathon
The Copenhagen Marathon is a major metropolitan running event held in the Danish capital. The race covers a distance of 42.195 km through the streets of Copenhagen. The event is part of the European Marathon Classics, a series that unites eight iconic European marathons into one long-term challenge.
The event features a competitive field, including an elite category where course records are frequently challenged. Recent editions have seen up to 25,000 runners participating in the streets of the capital. Registration for the event is managed through a lottery system for bib allocation.
In addition to the main marathon, there are related events such as the CPH Mini Marathon held in Fælledparken. This junior event involves approximately 1,800 children running a distance of one mile. The marathon infrastructure includes photo services along the course and at the finish line, as well as an official mobile app for participants and spectators.
Participants can choose to run for charity or enter through company agreements. The organization also emphasizes sustainability initiatives throughout the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
