Cookie Chase - Denver, CO
The Cookie Chase is a 5K run/walk staged at Sloan’s Lake Park in Denver. The course uses the paved bike trails that circle the lake; bicycles, skateboards, and roller skates are not allowed during the race. Because parts of the course are narrow, participants start in waves based on estimated finish time.
Registration includes a race logo shirt, a finisher medal, fresh cookies at the finish, fully stocked aid stations, professional chip timing with a disposable bib tag, and free photo downloads after the event. Packet pickup is available before the event and on race morning at the race site. A pre-race pickup location is provided in Denver.
The event is staged from the parking area near W 17th Avenue and Utica Street; that parking lot is closed on race morning and neighborhood parking south of the park is the suggested alternative. Participants are asked to respect posted parking signs and local residents.
Awards are presented near the finish line to the overall male and female winners and to the top three in each age group. Age groups begin with 9 and under, then 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, and continue in five-year increments up to 80 and over. A virtual participation option is available; virtual packets include a shirt, medal, and bib and are shipped free of charge. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
