Coogee Beach Triathlon
Coogee Beach Triathlon, organised by the Fremantle Triathlon Club, takes place at Cockburn Road and Powell Road, Coogee on 21 March 2027. The event is held alongside the Indian Ocean and uses sheltered, calm waters protected by offshore islands for the swim. Transition sits on the grass near the Coogee Beach Café and the run follows a shared coastal path parallel to the beach.
There are four event options with set distances:
- Sprint: 750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run
- Fun: 300m swim, 10km bike, 2.5km run
- Sunsmart Kids Triathlon: 100m swim, 3km bike, 1km run
- Sprint Teams: 750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run
The bike leg is a 5km lap on Cockburn Road with two U-turns; the course runs on closed roads. Run laps are 2.5km each on a flat, sheltered path. Swim formats differ by event with point-to-point and rectangular lap options.
Age and category rules apply: minimum ages are 12 for the Fun course and 14 for the Sprint; age is taken as at 31 December 2025. Male and female categories run separately and categories may be combined if entries are small. The race awards medals to category winners and counts for double points in the Fremantle Club Championships.
Facilities listed at the venue include BBQs, a children’s playground, a foreshore café, and toilets. The event document contains detailed rules on registration, safety, equipment and behaviour for swim, bike and run legs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
