Conwy Half Marathon
The Conwy Half Marathon is a road race held in Conwy, North Wales, with a start and finish on the bridge near the quayside in front of Conwy Castle. The course follows the road beside the River Conwy toward Deganwy, continues along the West Shore in Llandudno and Church Walks past Llandudno Pier, then goes around the Great Orme before returning to Conwy quayside.
The route includes coastal views that take in the Isle of Anglesey and Puffin Island. Water stations are provided about every three miles and at the finish. Portable toilets are located near miles 4 and 10; there are also toilets at the start and finish. First aid cover is provided at the start and finish with mobile medical teams on the course.
All finishers receive a technical T-shirt and a bespoke medal. Prizes are awarded to the first three male and female finishers and to category winners. A special Castles series medal is available to runners who have completed the four castles series. The event uses timing chips attached to race numbers; baggage storage is available on the quayside and requires the yellow tag from the bib.
The whole route is closed to traffic during the race, marshals manage crossings and headphones are not allowed. Runners are asked to respect local residents and to use marshal or water station points for litter. The organiser requests runners are able to maintain roughly a 12 to 15 minute mile pace for course management. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
