Conquer the Castle, North Chagrin Reservation

Conquer the Castle is a fall trail event held on November 7, 2026 at North Chagrin Reservation in Mayfield, Ohio. The event offers running, hiking, and rucking options across a range of distances and formats, including morning and afternoon starts on some distances. The primary venue locations named for the event are AB Williams Memorial Woods and the Forest Picnic Area.

The course is based on a 16.7 km loop. Events use multiple loops to compose longer distances: 100K equals six loops, 50K equals three loops, 20 Mile equals two loops, and 10 Mile equals one loop. The 5K follows the first 5 kilometers of the loop. There is a 15 hour cutoff listed for the 100K event.

A marked Castle Climb behind Squire's Castle is optional for several distances; the climb is 0.15 miles each way and participants who complete it receive a token to carry to the finish for event swag. Aid stations are located at the start/finish area and near mile 5 and provide water, electrolyte drink, pretzels, candy, PB&J, salt tabs, and similar items. Registration includes a custom race shirt or an upgrade option, a finisher medal, a race bib, chip timing, and post race snacks. Awards are listed for top three female and male finishers in the main distances and 100K finishers receive a belt buckle.

Early packet pickup is available the day before at 2nd Sole Lakewood and on site packet pickup will be open during the event. Participants who begin a loop later in the day must carry a headlamp or other light source. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
