Overview
The Communication Counts 5k is the 7th annual fundraising event hosted by the Charlotte Speech and Hearing Center. It takes place on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at McAlpine Creek Park in Charlotte, North Carolina. The address for the event is 8711 Monroe Rd., Charlotte, NC 28212.
Events
Four events are offered:
- Communication Counts 5k (timed): A timed 5 km race.
- Fun Run (untimed): An untimed event covering the same 5 km course.
- Kids Dash: A shorter run for children.
- Virtual 5K: A virtual running option.
Participant Information
Timed 5k participants receive a timing bib for official results, a race t-shirt, and a finisher medal. Fun Run participants also receive a t-shirt and finisher medal, while supplies last. Kids Dash and Virtual Run registrants receive a race t-shirt.
Prizes are awarded in several categories: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place male and female; the team that raises the most funds; the most spirited team; and the largest team.
Packet pickup is scheduled for Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Charlotte Running Co. Promenade (5355 Ballantyne Commons Pkwy #200, Charlotte, NC 28277).
