About the race
Come Out & Run 5K is a community event presented by Wilton Pride and Wilton Library held at Wilton Town Green in Wilton, Connecticut on September 20, 2026. The event includes a 5K run open to adults and youth, with a separate registration category for kids under 10 who participate for free and still must register.
The event emphasizes PRIDE, diversity, inclusivity, and support for LGBTQIA+ community members and allies and is held in honor of National Coming Out Day. The day combines the 5K with music, food, vendor exhibits, giveaways, digital race photos, post race festivities, and family-friendly activities. Runners, walkers, strollers, and leashed dogs are welcome.
Awards are given to the top three adult runners by gender and to top kid runners by age. Prizes listed by the organizer include gift baskets from local businesses, fitness-related gift offers, and gift cards; youth winners receive gift cards by age group. New this year is the Stiletto Dash, a short heel-only dash for registered 5K participants aged 18 and older with rules about heel height and footwear eligibility and preferential placement for Pride attire.
Packet pickup is available the Friday and Saturday before the race at Wilton Library and on race morning at Wilton Green. Restroom access will be available at Wilton Library before the event, there will be one water station on course, and post race snacks and refreshments will be provided on the Green. Parking and drop-off are available around Wilton Town Center with drop-off recommended at Wilton Library. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
