Nationwide Children's Hospital Columbus Marathon
The Nationwide Children's Hospital Columbus Marathon takes place in Columbus, Ohio, featuring a variety of road races over a two-day weekend. The event starts and finishes at North Bank Park. This race weekend serves as a significant partnership with Nationwide Children's Hospital, having raised over $15 million for the institution over 15 years.
The weekend offers several race distances and participation options:
- Marathon (26.2 miles): A USATF certified course and Boston Marathon Qualifier.
- 1/2 Marathon (13.1 miles): A USATF certified course.
- Gold Medal Challenge: Combined events totaling 29.3 miles or 16.2 miles.
- Jesse Owens 5K: A USATF certified 3.1 mile race.
- Jesse Owens 1 Mile: A fun run or walk distance.
- Kids Run: Includes a Toddler Dash and races for children up to age 9.
Age requirements apply to various distances. Participants must be at least 16 years old for the full marathon and at least 12 years old for the half marathon. The 5K and 1 Mile events require participants to be at least 10 years old. The Kids Run is divided into age groups for children aged 1 to 3, 4 to 6, and 7 to 9.
