Event Overview

The Columbia River Classic Run consists of a 51st annual competitive run and a fun run held in Richland, Washington. The event features multiple distances that utilize the paved paths along the Columbia River. A portion of the proceeds from the event supports Camp Patriot, a non-profit organization that provides outdoor adventures for disabled veterans.

Course Information

The races start and finish at the USS Triton Submarine Memorial, located off the intersection of 11th Avenue and George Washington Way at USS Triton Submarine Park. Both courses follow an out and back route along the paved Columbia River trail. Participants in the longer distance will find aid stations located at the Snyder Street entrance to Leslie Groves Park and at the turnaround point. These stations provide water, while energy gels are available at the turnaround.

Distances

  • 10 Mile Run: A competitive race on a paved surface with age group awards.
  • 2 Mile Dash: A fun run designed for various age groups, including a specific category for youth.

Awards and Recognition

Participants in the 2 Mile Dash receive a keepsake upon crossing the finish line. In the 10 Mile Run, special awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers. Additionally, awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in age groups ranging from 15 and under to 80-89. Optional event shirts are available for those who register before the specified t-shirt deadline. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
