Event Overview
The Colors for Children’s is a running event on Saturday, March 28, 2026, in Auburn, Alabama. The event takes place on the campus of Auburn High School, located at 1701 East Samford Avenue. It is the 4th annual edition of this event, which is organized by the Auburn High School Key Club. The event benefits the Children's Hospital of Alabama.
Distances
The event offers two race distances:
- Colors for Children's 5K
- Colors for Children's 1 Mile
Both events are color runs, where colored powder made from corn starch is thrown at participants during the race. The powder is described as washable. The courses for both races are described as "open course," meaning runners share the area with traffic and are encouraged to use sidewalks and be aware of their surroundings. The 1-mile and 5K follow the same looped route, with the 1-mile being a single loop and the 5K consisting of three loops.
Venue and Logistics
The start and finish area is in the parking lot in front of the Auburn High School baseball field. Parking for participants is available in the on-campus Blue Lot, a large student parking lot adjacent to the academic and fine arts buildings. The Glenn Avenue entrance is the designated access point; the E. University entrance will be blocked. Race packet pickup begins at 7:15 a.m. on the event day near the registration tables outside the athletic building. An early-bird bib pickup is also available on Friday, March 26th, at the AHS Media Center.
