Coleraine Campus 5k (NI & U Championship)
The Coleraine Campus 5k is the fifth edition of a 5k event organised by Springwell Running Club on the grounds of Ulster University, Cromore Road, Coleraine BT52 1SA, on 21 August 2026. The event doubles as the NI & Ulster 5k Road Championship in association with Athletics Northern Ireland.
The programme opens with a Junior Mile fun run, followed by three seeded 5k races based on predicted finish time: a race for predicted times of 22 minutes or greater, a race for predicted times between 18 and 22 minutes, and an elite race for runners targeting sub 18 minutes. Minimum entry age is 12 years. Entries open 4 May 2026 and close 14 August 2026. Entry fees are listed as GBP 20 for ANI affiliated runners and GBP 22 for unaffiliated runners. Entries recorded at the time of publication total 157 participants.
The course lies entirely within the university campus and covers just under four laps of the main campus road loop. The majority of the route is on a closed single carriageway. Start and finish areas will be on sections of road that are closed to traffic for the event, with the full road width available in those areas.
Prize structure includes cash awards for the top three male and female finishers in each race, age category prizes across veteran groups, a course record bonus of GBP 250, and specific prize levels for the elite race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
