Coleraine Campus 5k (NI & Ulster Championship)
Springwell Running Club will host the fifth edition of the Coleraine Campus 5k at Ulster University, Cromore Road, Coleraine on Friday 21st August 2026. The event doubles as the NI & Ulster 5k Road Championship in association with Athletics Northern Ireland. The event minimum age is 11 or older and entries are subject to the published entry period.
There will be a Junior Mile fun run followed by three separate 5k races organised by predicted finish time: a race for predicted finishes of 22 minutes or greater, a race for predicted finishes between 18 and 22 minutes, and an elite race for sub 18 minute runners. To be eligible for podium cash prizes in the first two 5k races, an athlete must not run more than 30 seconds faster than that race's advertised quickest target time. Entries open and close on the published dates and entry fees vary for Athletics Northern Ireland affiliated and unaffiliated runners.
The course is within the university campus and comprises just under four laps of the main campus road loop. Most of the route runs on a closed single carriageway and the start and finish areas will be traffic free for the event. Prize money and age category awards are listed for each race, and a reward is available for any competitor who sets a new course record on the night.
