Coleraine Campus 5k (NI&U Championship)
The Coleraine Campus 5k is organised by Springwell Running Club on the grounds of Ulster University in Coleraine on Friday 21 August 2026. The event doubles as the Northern Ireland and Ulster 5k Road Championship in association with Athletics Northern Ireland. The minimum age to enter is 12.
The meeting opens with a Junior Mile fun run and continues with three separate 5k races seeded by predicted finish time. The first 5k is for runners with a predicted finish time of 22 minutes or greater. The second is for predicted times between 18 and 22 minutes. The final 5k is the elite race for those who can run under 18 minutes.
- Junior Mile
- 5k races split into three seeded fields
The course lies entirely within the university grounds and covers just under four laps of the main campus road loop. Most of the route is on a closed single carriageway road loop. The start area and finish chute are on sections of the loop that will be closed to traffic for the event, allowing full road width in those areas.
Prize structure includes cash for podium places in each race, larger prizes for the elite race, age category prizes for veterans from V35 to V65, and a £250 reward for any athlete who sets a new course record. Entry fees listed are £20 for Athletics NI affiliated and £22 for unaffiliated entrants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
