Cole Borges Moon & Stars 5K
The Cole Borges Moon & Stars 5K is an evening community run and walk held at Mere Sports Complex in Marianna, Florida. The event includes a 5K Run/Walk and a 1 Mile Fun Run, and food trucks and vendors will be on site.
The event benefits the Cole Borges Memorial Scholarship Fund, which awards scholarships to graduating seniors who reside in Jackson, Washington, Holmes, or Calhoun counties. Scholarships support attendance at colleges, technical schools, vocational programs, and trade schools. Since its creation the fund has awarded scholarships funded by sponsors, donors, runners, and volunteers.
Registration opens on June 18, 2026. Fee levels are tiered: registration at $35 is available through August 31, 2026 and includes an event t-shirt with pre-registration; registration at $40 begins September 1, 2026 and continues through race day. Race shirts are guaranteed only to participants who register by August 31, 2026; a limited number of additional shirts may be available on race day while supplies last.
Organizers moved the event to September in recognition of Suicide Prevention Month and highlight mental health awareness and the importance of checking on friends and family.
