Coco's Heart 5K Fun Run
The Coco's Heart 5K Fun Run is a community athletic event held at Lakefront Park in Hudson, Wisconsin. The event serves as a fundraiser for Coco's Heart Dog Rescue, with proceeds supporting veterinary care, food, and supplies for dogs in need. Participants may choose to fundraise to earn discounts for the organization's online shop.
Available distances and formats:
- 5K in-person run
- 5K virtual "Sleep In" option
- 5K for ages 10 and under
The in-person 5K is a chip-timed course that is open to both human participants and dogs. The route includes at least two water stations designed for both people and pets. Paid registrants receive a race bib with a timing chip, a training plan, a course layout, and a finisher gift. Registration completed by May 27 guarantees a specific shirt size; for later registrations, shirts are provided based on remaining availability.
A virtual "Sleep In" option allows participants to complete a 5K walk or run at their own location and convenience. This registration include a race shirt mailed to the participant. For children aged 10 and under, there is an option to participate for free without a t-shirt or for a reduced fee including a shirt.
In addition to the run, the event grounds at Lakefront Park feature various activities. These include music, puppy yoga, an area for adoptable dogs, and a dedicated kids' race. On-site amenities also include marketplace vendors, food, a photo booth, face painting, and a craft corner for children. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
