Event Overview
The Cocky Trot 5K is a running event scheduled for April 25, 2026. The event includes a 5K run and a 1 Mile fun run/walk. There are separate registration categories and pricing for participants aged 17 & under and 18 & over.
Location & Course
The event starts and finishes at the South Carolina State Fairgrounds, located at 901 George Rogers Blvd in Columbia, South Carolina. Due to construction for the Williams-Brice Reimagined project, the 2026 course will be different from previous years. It will run through Gamecock Park and the indoor and outdoor practice football facilities but will not go through Williams-Brice Stadium.
Registration & Fees
Registration includes a commemorative race shirt, a finisher medal, chip timing, a personal results page with a finish line video, access to purchase discounted football and baseball tickets, and post-race refreshments.
Pricing uses a tiered structure with early bird rates available until March 22, 2026.
- 5K (18 & Over): Starts at $39.44.
- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk (18 & Over): Starts at $39.44.
- 5K (17 & Under): Starts at $25.53.
- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk (17 & Under): Starts at $25.53.
