Event details

The cmX 5K 2026 is the second annual cmX 5K Walk/Run hosted by the CMAA Southern California Chapter Foundation. It includes the following distances:

5K Run/Walk
Kids Run (open to ages 8 and under)

The event takes place on Saturday, February 21, 2026, in Long Beach, CA. The start location is 5400 E. Ocean Blvd., Long Beach, CA 90803.

Purpose and partners

The event supports CMAA SoCal’s workforce development initiatives for the architecture, engineering, and construction sector. The cmX program offers shadowships for high school students, paid internships for college students, opportunities for recent graduates, and an emerging leaders program for young professionals. Logistics

Bib pick-up is available the day before at Sports Basement and on race day at the start line. The course has a time limit of 1.5 hours. Beach lot parking is available and listed at $2.00 per hour.
