Event overview

Cloud Nine is a fell race organised by Congleton Harriers on 1 March 2026 in Congleton, England. The route is approximately 9 miles (14.5 km) with about 1250 ft (381 m) of ascent and is graded FRA Category BM. The course runs from Congleton to the summit of Bosley Cloud (1125 ft) and returns via the Bridestones, with a revised anticlockwise direction and some modifications around the Biddulph Valley Way for 2026. The race has a capacity of 350 and the minimum age for entrants is 18.

Race logistics and rules

Pre-entry is required; there is no entry on the day. Pre-entry fees are shown as £14 for members and £15 for non-members, plus a booking or admin fee. A portion of the entry fee will be donated to the National Trust. Numbers are collected at the event and changing and baggage facilities are available at Congleton Leisure Centre, with the start at Brunswick Wharf.

Mandatory kit follows FRA minimum requirements: a waterproof whole-body cover with taped seams and an integrated hood, plus a hat and gloves. Random kit checks will take place. GPS and other electronic devices are not permitted for navigation. Dogs and MP3 players are not allowed. A cut-off time applies at Marshall point N, approximately 4.6 miles into the race.
