Joe Duffy Group Clontarf Half Marathon – Summer Edition
The event is a coastal half marathon with start and finish at EastPoint Business Park in Clontarf. The out-and-back, professionally measured course runs along Clontarf Promenade, crosses Bull Island, and returns, offering sustained views across Dublin Bay and Howth Head. The route is described as flat and scenic with mixed terrain and a recorded maximum elevation of 93 m.
Entries include a certified course, chip timing, a finisher’s medal, and a bespoke event t-shirt. Finish-line refreshments and post-race goodies are provided, and a photowall and event photos are available after the race. A participant discount at a sports retailer is offered.
Practical information provided for participants includes on-course water stations (Half Marathon: 4.3 km, 8.5 km, 14 km, 17.5 km) supplying cups of water, and toilets at the start/finish and near those same kilometer locations. A secure bag drop is located beside the start/finish; only one small waterproof bag is permitted and a tear-off label from the race number is required. Headphones are allowed but participants must remain aware of marshals, Gardaí, pedestrians, and other runners. A dedicated walkers’ wave is available and walkers must walk the entire course.
Other event policies include a no-refunds rule, restricted name changes unless made before numbers are allocated, a T-shirt swap zone for unworn shirts, and adherence to Athletic Ireland age regulations. Results and photos are published after the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
