Clontarf Half Marathon – Summer Edition

The event is an out and back Half Marathon along Dublin’s coastline, starting and finishing at EastPoint Business Park. The route follows Clontarf Promenade, crosses Bull Island and returns, offering wide coastal views and sea breeze along Dublin Bay and Howth Head. The course is described as flat and professionally measured and certified.

Entries include chip timing, a bespoke running T shirt, a finisher’s medal, finish line refreshments, on-course photography and a photowall. Pacers are provided for common half marathon target times. There are no prizes awarded for placing.

Logistics at the venue include a supervised bag drop beside the start and finish area (one small waterproof bag per participant), toilets at the start and along the route, and water stations supplying cups at approximately 4.3km, 8.5km, 14km and 17.5km. Parking is available in EastPoint multi storey car parks and additional nearby car parks; attendees arriving by car are asked to arrive before road closures begin. Public transport access includes DART and Dublin Bus and secure bike parking is available.

The event enforces a strict cut off time of 3.5 hours and follows Athletics Ireland licensing requirements; one day licence fees apply for those without annual membership. Refunds are not available but name changes and distance changes can usually be accommodated before numbers are allocated. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
