The Fat Turkey Run – Sutton
The Fat Turkey Run is an annual 10km road event held in Sutton to raise funds for Suttonians Rugby Football Club and the IRFU Charitable Trust. The event is for participants aged over 16 and 2026 marks the 15th edition.
The course starts at St Fintans Church, follows Carrickbrack Road, turns right at the Summit Shop, continues onto Baily Green Road up to the Summit Car Park where there is a turnaround and an aid/water station, then returns on the same route. The finish is on the grass verge opposite St Fintans Church. Organisers state a cut off time of 85 to 90 minutes.
Registration and race packet collection take place at Suttonians RFC, opposite Sutton Dart Station, where parking, changing and shower facilities are available. Race packets include a race number, timing chip and a technical "turkey" running tee shirt; a limited edition finisher's medal is provided and an upgraded entry includes a premium insulated Fat Turkey Run bobble hat. There is a safety and event briefing before the start. After the event participants return to Suttonians RFC for changing, refreshments, prize giving and live music.
