Cliff Runner 5K
Cliff Runner 5K is a community road race in Sea Cliff scheduled for May 2. The event is based at the Sea Cliff Yacht Club, 42 The Boulevard, Sea Cliff, NY 11579, with shuttle buses provided to the starting line at the Sea Cliff Fire Department.
The course begins at the Sea Cliff Firehouse and covers a certified 5-kilometer route through the village, including a segment along Sea Cliff Beach. A free barbecue is available for participants at the finish area. The event features live music from the Sea Cliff band Chicken Head and a vendor village.
Amenities listed for participants include T-shirts guaranteed for the first 250 entrants, live and same-day results delivered online, by text, or by email, free finish line photos, and personalized bibs for registrations made at least three weeks in advance. Bib pickup is handled by event staff starting one hour before the event; bib number is required for pickup, and last-minute registrants within 24 hours may receive their bib number by text.
Awards include medals for the top three men and women overall, top three men and women in multiple age groups, and top three men and women in Fire, Police, EMS, and Military categories. The event is organized by the Sea Cliff Fire Department, a 100 percent volunteer Fire and EMS department in Nassau County, and proceeds support the department's response and care for Sea Cliff and nearby communities.
