Ohio (Cleveland Area) SCADaddle 5K Walk & Run for Research
The first annual SCADaddle is a charity 5K event held at Longwood Park in Macedonia, Ohio to raise funds for Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) research. The event offers a 5K (3.106 miles) chip timed run and walk that follows paved pathways and wooded trails through and around the park.
SCAD is described as a little known and poorly understood type of heart attack that affects mostly younger healthy women and can also affect men. The event is organized to support research into SCAD causes and treatment options.
All participants will be timed and all finishers receive a medal. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top male and female in each age category: 0-10, 11-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+. Refreshments, vendors, and a SCAD store are part of the post-race activities.
Registration information notes a fee of $45.00 and a guaranteed T-shirt for those who register by October 16, 2026. A fundraising page is automatically created during registration but fundraising is optional. Participants who raise at least $1,000 will receive a refund of the registration fee.
