Ohio (Cleveland Area) SCADaddle 5K Walk & Run for Research
The event is the first annual SCADaddle 5K walk and run held at Longwood Park, 1566 E. Aurora Road, Macedonia, Ohio 44056. It is a chip-timed 5K course that runs on a mix of paved pathways and wooded trails within the park.
The event raises funds for research into Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD). The description of SCAD notes it is a form of heart attack that affects younger, often healthy people and is a leading cause of heart attacks in women under age 50, as well as affecting pregnant women and new mothers. Research is needed to identify causes and treatment options.
All participants will be timed. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top male and top female in these age categories: 0-10, 11-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 plus. Event amenities listed include refreshments, vendors, and a SCAD store.
Registration information includes an opening and closing window and a registration fee of $45. To be guaranteed an event T-shirt, registration should be completed by October 24, 2026. The event policy states there are no refunds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
