Event Overview
The Clemson Triathlon takes place in Seneca, South Carolina, at the Snow Family Outdoor Fitness and Wellness Center on the campus of Clemson University. The 2026 edition will mark the event's 27th season, making it the oldest existing triathlon in South Carolina. It is part of the South Carolina Triathlon Series.
Events and Distances
The event features a main "Sprinternational Distance" triathlon format. Available events are:
- Sprinternational Triathlon (individual)
- Sprinternational Relay (team)
- Aquabike (swim and bike only)
- Aquathlon (swim and run only)
- Living Donor (individual)
- Living Donor (relay team)
The standard distances for the swim, bike, and run segments are:
- Swim: 1000 meters in a lake
- Bike: 21 miles (two loops of the course)
- Run: 6 kilometers on a flat course along the East Beach Dike
The Aquabike uses the 1000-meter swim and 21-mile bike. The Aquathlon uses the 1000-meter swim and 6-kilometer run.
State Championship and Club Competition
The 2026 event is designated as the USA Triathlon South Carolina State Championship. It also includes a club competition for USA Triathlon clubs. For the club competition, only individual triathlon participants count, while aquabike, aquathlon, and relay team athletes do not. Clubs must have a minimum of three finishers to be scored.
