4th Annual Clayton-Henry NPHC 5K Fun Run/Walk
The Clayton-Henry National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) hosts an annual event focused on physical fitness and community involvement. The event takes place at Clayton International Park and features a scenic 5 km route through the Bud Kelley Park Trail System. Proceeds from the registration support scholarships and community programs aimed at assisting local youth with college costs.
Participants move through the trail system in a chip-timed race. The event is open to individuals using strollers and wheelchairs, though pets are not permitted on the course or at the venue. For safety, participants may be organized into smaller starting corrals.
The event includes several features for participants:
- 5 km Run/Walk
The atmosphere is supported by a live DJ and a pre-race warm-up session. Registered participants receive a race bib, a commemorative medal, and a swag bag while supplies last. After the race, a festival takes place featuring local food vendors, a line dance marathon, and booths from local businesses and community organizations.
The race is held rain or shine at the Jonesboro location. Free parking is available at the race site until the lot reaches capacity, after which point an overflow lot with a shuttle service is utilized. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
