Clarence DeMar Road Race
The Clarence DeMar Road Race takes place on July 4, 2026 at Folsom Elementary School, 75 South St, South Hero, Vermont. The event includes a 5K race and a free kids' race held in the schoolyard.

The 5K is on a paved surface and runs out (south) and back (north) on South Street; the course is described as flat and carries the certification VT19003JK.
Pre-registration is encouraged. Registration opens January 15, 2026; online registration remains open until 8:15 am on race day. In-person race day registration and race-day packet pickup take place at Folsom School.
Packet pickup is also offered the day before at Skirack on July 3 from noon to 6:00 PM. Entry fees are $25 for pre-registration and $30 for race-day registration, with a $5 discount for GMAA members. There are no refunds, deferrals, or transfers.
Awards include top three overall male, female, and non-binary finishers, the top finisher in each age-group category, and a random drawing. The event benefits the South Hero Rescue Squad. GMAA and insurance rules prohibit running with a baby jogger or a dog, and headphone use is strongly discouraged for safety. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
