Clare Valley Trail Run
The Clare Valley Trail Run is a trail running event held in the Clare Valley wine region, about two hours north of the Adelaide CBD. Races start and finish at the Clare Showgrounds. The 2026 program no longer includes a 50 km option; current distances are listed below.
The event lists multiple aid stations along the courses. Aid station supplies have included water, Huma electrolyte drink, Coke, lollies, chips and muesli bars. Supporters may meet runners only at designated aid stations. Runners must provide their own drinking vessel.
Bibs are collected at a Saturday night bib pick-up and pre-race dinner session, details TBA. Last minute entries may be accepted at Saturday bib collection from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, but not on race day, and bibs can also be collected on race morning. A major sponsor for the event is Pikes Beer Co and Pikes Wines, which may attend the finish area.
Mandatory gear is defined for safety and may change with weather forecasts. All 25 km runners must carry at minimum a space blanket, whistle, mobile phone and the capacity to carry 1 L of fluids, starting with at least 500 ml. In adverse weather, requirements may include a waterproof jacket, a thermal base layer and headwear. Organisers may sell some mandatory items at the event.
