City Summer Triathlon
City Summer Triathlon is a USAT sanctioned multisport event held at Shore Front Parkway and Beach 84th Street in Far Rockaway, New York. The course uses the Atlantic Ocean for the swim and the concrete boardwalk for both the bike and run legs. Transition is located by the Beach 84 Street bus stop. The event proceeds rain or shine.
Race formats and distances include:
- Elite/Advanced Triathlon: 0.3 mi swim, 12 mi bike, 3 mi run
- Beginner Triathlon with personal buoys: 0.3 mi swim, 12 mi bike, 3 mi run
- Individual Duathlon: 3 mi run, 12 mi bike, 3 mi run
- Junior High School free registration for Individual Duathlon: Age 14 to 18 only
Registration opens October 18, 2025 and closes in July 2026 for the main events; junior registration has a later close date. Fees are listed for each event and junior entry is free. A valid USAT racing license is required to register. Day of registration is available with a ten dollar late fee.
Equipment and race procedures note that wetsuits are welcome, personal swim buoys are allowed for the beginner wave, any bike with brakes is permitted, and race numbers must be marked on the left arm and left leg before the swim. Free public parking is available at Beach 94th Street. Race results and photos are normally published within 48 hours.
