Event overview
The Circle of The Dragon is a 12-hour endurance run held May 9, 2026 at Bonita Lakes Park boat landing in Meridian, MS. The event uses a 4.6-mile loop around the lake on a Jeep trail road. A new Turtle Level for 2026 is a separate, 2-loop division - 9.2 miles - with no option to continue beyond two loops or to drop down from the main division. The overall winner is determined by the most loops completed, with ties broken by fastest time within the 12-hour limit.
Course, services and rules
The course features rolling, increasingly challenging hills and is not on single-track trail. There is a single aid station at the loop start/finish; organizers provide water, Tailwind, food, snacks, GU, and a roving UTV for assistance. Participants must bring their own hydration bottle or pack; refills are available at the start/finish area. Trash and used gel packs should be carried back to the checkpoint for disposal. RFID chip timing records each lap split.
Awards and milestones
All participants who complete 4 full loops receive the Circle Of The Dragon 12 Hr Endurance Run medal. All participants receive a patch and a race shirt and swag bag. Milestone awards are earned as miles are completed: Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
