Cinco de Mile 5K Fun Run for Mental Health Awareness
The Cinco de Mile 5K Fun Run for Mental Health Awareness takes place in Southwest Detroit at Patton Park. Organized by Delta Tau Lambda Sorority, Inc., this event coincides with local Cinco de Mayo celebrations. The course follows the perimeter of Patton Park, and participants have the option to run, walk, or jog the distance.

The event welcomes children and pets. Participants can choose between different registration tiers, including a standard entry and an "econo" option. Standard registrants receive a souvenir t-shirt featuring Mexican colors and a registration bag containing various resources and promotions. The econo registration option does not include a t-shirt but provides a finisher medal for those who complete the course.
Packet pickup is organized on the day of the event at the Patton Park registration booth, located near the recreation center. A portion of the funds raised from the event is allocated to support local mental health programs within the Metro Detroit area. In the event of weather conditions that prevent an in-person gathering, the organizers transition the event to a virtual format and provide instructions for packet collection or mailing. Mental health vendors and volunteers also participate in the event day activities to support the cause. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
